Corrections policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
We work hard to be accurate, but we make mistakes. When we do, we correct them openly and promptly.
How to tell us
Email [email protected] with “Correction” in the subject, the link to the story, what is wrong and how you know. You can also use our tips page. We will check it and reply as soon as we can.
How we correct
- Factual errors (numbers, names, titles, dates, places, quotes): we fix the text and add a dated “Correction” note at the end of the story saying what was wrong and what is right. We never change facts silently.
- Typos and punctuation that don't change the facts: we simply fix them.
- Both language versions: an error in one version is corrected in both.
- Serious errors: if a mistake affected the core of a story, the correction says so plainly, and we publish a follow-up where needed.
- Removing stories: we don't take published stories down, except where the law requires it or someone's safety is at risk — and then we say why.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your complaint, you can take it to the Media Council of Kenya. Our registration number is MCKMH1808.
