About the event
Etengo 1.0 is a one-day festival of Gusii (Kisii) culture, billed by its organisers as Kenya's leading celebration of the community. It brings together music, dance, fashion, food, storytelling and enterprise, with a focus on reconnecting generations and showcasing Gusii talent and businesses.
The line-up on the ticketing page includes Faith Stan, Mash Wonder, Bana Sungusia & Kwasa Kwasa Band, Rikanika Snr, Ombiro Obokano, Mell Baron, Sagero, Cal. J. Vinka and Simba Layon, with MCs Don Nyachio and Nyareso and DJs Deejay Clef, DJ Rayza and Dj Bunney among others.
It takes place on 24 October at the Carnivore's Simba Saloon in Langata, starting at noon. Advance tickets run from KES 2,000 (regular) to KES 5,500 (VVIP), with a group-of-four ticket at KES 7,200 and KES 2,500 at the gate.
