Fragments of Memory: photographs from the Mo Amin collection
Archive photographs from the Mo Amin collection, co-curated by Michael Kainga and Joel Lukhovi.

About the event
Fragments of Memory brings a small selection from the archive of Kenyan photojournalist Mohamed 'Mo' Amin (1943–1996) to The Good Grain, a café-bakery in Nairobi. The archive, held by Camerapix, the agency he founded, holds more than 8.5 million images; co-curator Michael Kainga told the news agency EFE that the team looked through 50,000–60,000 of them to choose 34.
The photographs, spanning several decades, range from scenes of everyday life to pro-democracy activists riding through Nairobi on a truck in 1991. They are shown alongside lesser-known items from the archive, such as old press passes.
Amin's son Salim Amin says the show aims to introduce his father to new generations. It runs until 1 November.
