Kenya sets aside KSh 25 billion to compensate people affected by Narok–Bomet–Kisumu section of the SGR extension being built by Chinese firms
On 9 October 2026, the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) reported that the Kenyan government had set aside KSh 25 billion (about US$192 million) to compensate people affected by the Narok–Bomet–Kisumu section of the Standard Gauge Railway extension, which Chinese firms are building.
